Firm Overview

Mulhern & Klein concentrates its practice on counseling individuals faced with the ordinary, and sometimes extraordinary, challenges of life. Many of our clients come to us for representation in connection with a matrimonial matter, whether it be a prenuptial agreement, a separation agreement, or a divorce with custody, division of property, maintenance and/or child support issues. Because of the high financial and emotional costs of protracted litigation, Mulhern & Klein’s first emphasis is on exploring whether the client’s objectives can fairly be achieved through a negotiated settlement. However, in those cases where a fair settlement cannot be achieved, the Firm takes aggressive professional steps and works diligently to ensure that our clients are prepared to achieve the best possible result in Court.

The Firm also attracts many clients who require representation as a result of a personal injury occasioned through the negligence of a third party. We represent individuals who have suffered injuries in automobile accidents, at the workplace, or during recreational activities. Again, the emphasis of the Firm is to obtain, at the earliest possible moment, a just financial settlement to compensate the client for his or her injuries. However, if a fair settlement is not offered, the Firm will take, and has taken, client matters to trial and has achieved successful jury verdicts.

Mulhern & Klein also represents individuals with everyday legal needs, such as drafting wills and trusts, selling or buying a home, cooperative or condominium, or probating or administering a family member’s estate. The Firm does not require the client to work through a secretary or paralegal. Rather, recognizing the importance of each of these transactions, the client works directly with one of the Partners.

Mulhern & Klein emphasizes a “hands on”, relationship with each and every client. Every client is represented by one of the Firm’s Partners. The Partners make themselves available to meet with their clients as early or as late in the day as is consistent with the client’s schedule. The Firm can arrange to meet their clients either at their office in Nassau County or Manhattan. When necessary, we work with our client’s accountants or other professionals to integrate our services with them or, on occasion, we reach into our own network of experts to help achieve the client’s objectives.

Mulhern & Klein strives to develop a personal relationship with each client, so that the client may be confident that whatever challenges may occur they have a counselor and advocate prepared to assist them.
